On examining the plan of filling the Marine Lot purchased by me at the Land sales of the 16 November 1855, we find that in so doing we shall completely shut out all southern frontage from the Government Clock Tower, so that for lounging or drowsing in any boat, the Public Praya at present constituted, could have to be moved for about 100 feet further seaward.
Under these circumstances, and with the supposition that the Government Clock Tower could thus be rendered of very little use, I beg to ask you whether it is the intention of Government to change the site of its new buildings, and to specify where.
